Nursery Rhyme

Ring around the trousers,
pockets full of poses;
hush child, hush child!
We all fall down...

I've read this through a couple of times now--it really resonates with me and my heart. Reminds me of the young men I see at work involved in serious actions, but still kids. Reminds me of the young soldier boys we send out. Nicely done and thank you. AnnieH

Your poem reads like the beginning of a nursery rhyme that grew up. I'm left wanting to know more about the fall.

Christine,
Grew up in what way? Do you know that I do not remember the entire original rhyme and I had not of the draft going further. But then, that is typical of me: these bursts of images and thoughts and in my mind, there is no thought to being more. Then again, I also look at them as draft and I do ascribed to the idea a poem is never done, always can evolve. Thanks.
