3WW

"Another Day, Another Coin"

While the hunt had been uneventful, the pay was generous. He thought better of his complaint. He unfolded the slip with his next victim's name on it. "So, who's my next daisy pusher, hmmm?" He roared as he read it, "Peter Pecker! Ah, it seems the universe has never been kind to this fellow." He crumpled the note and then frowned. "With a name like Peter Pecker, how much nerve could this sap have"? He'd have to come up with some vile and illicit amusements to make this one fun. "Oh well, all in a day's work."

*Every Wednesday, Thom posts three words at 3WW. We're to be creative. Today's selection is a follow up to short piece I started last week. I decided to try to keep this under 100 words. Do you think this qualifies as micro fiction? To see what others have done with the word choices go here.

Gah! Your short piece is in a different colour but not linked! I've been blinded by science!

You know I like it when you venture into the dark side to write. It's wicked fun, this. Well done, too, in under 100 words. Economy in it's flash and style.

Hey Thom, I was encouraged by your comments last week and decided to stay with the story, see where I can take it. This is fun. I have no idea how this will turn out. Depends on your next three words. lol

This is creepy, and yes, it counts as micro-fiction! Suspense and humor all tied up into one.

I love dark humor. You did it well in a very short space.

This was such a creepy yet funny tale of witty mayhem and ooh it just keeps you wanting the story line to unravel - but its also enough to leave us with a crooked smile!

I chuckle when I read this. And this sounds like a lot of fun. Last week for my fiction writers' class we got assigned to write a 5-page short story that contained 5 random objects that we had picked in class. It was quite fun, actually. Sometimes it's great just to have the slightest whisper of a nudge to write.
