an american sentence

I've been reading examples of the American Sentence created by Gisnberg. I chose this form for my response to the prompt posted at one deep breath

I throw up my hands to block the rocks you fire at my bruised chest.

Hi Susan, thanks for joining CyProWriMo! I have to admit we're working out the details as we go along, it was truly and off the cuff kind of thing for a few blogfriends and then we thought why not invite whoever wants to participate? We may have a list of participants, and if we do, in the spirit of the thing, it'll be out at the last minute. I'll be posting updates as we go along.

I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I'm part of the Fertile Ground group. You're American Sentence is great. It suits the prompt, yet it's more intimate and wider in scope than many "nature" haiku I've read.

i've also just recently 'discovered' the 'american sentence' form, though i haven't tried my hand at it yet just because i'm still enamored of the 5/7/5 of haiku (though i know many people don't follow it strictly anyway). i like what you've done here, because most of the american sentences i've read have lacked the emotional punch that you have captured. great job!
