Inspiration at Ford & Inkster Rd

There they were: sitting on the corner,
squat and round, cackling like pigeons
congregating in a busy downtown square.

Their squawking rising and dipping while
they ate Fritos and slurped Mountain Dew,
waving at the cars going by.

This poem has a lot of cheery sound. In such a short span, you engage all the senses, bringing me right to the moment. I haven't had Fritos in a long time. They used to be my favorite chip growing up. Yum.
All the specifics are great.
