Instead of getting up early and being productive, I slept in. This week has started out well. I led my first session of a formal literacy component incorporated into an established program at the non-profit where I volunteer. The session went well and I’m pretty psyched. Still reading daily and I’ve even cranked out a few drafts (inspired by a writing prompt. Go figure).
It seems even in reading, I cannot escape the truth that to be a writer, I have to write. In one of the books I recently read, Octavia Butler reiterates a writer writes- everyday. So, I’m carrying a composition book, jotting down whatever and in preparation for my group, I’m updating our blog and discussion forum.
Today, I recommit to writing daily. Calling on my friends to support, harass, call me on the carpet for the next 30 days. I know habit forming or breaking takes roughly 30 days, so here we go!
Lastly, a few of you expressed interest in Julia Cameron’s The Writing Diet: Write Yourself the Right Size. If you’d like to discuss the book and the tools she suggests, please let me know and I’ll post a regular post here on Fridays to discuss our reading and our efforts.

I'm glad to see everything is well, or so it seems.
Thanks for checkin' in, gal. I got my confession up late last night, after you'd been by.
Looks like your "on tap", got your engine revved up. Drafting is good. Incredible, in fact.
I'm on board with the writing diet (I gotta get the book, though.) So count me in but not this Friday!
I'll be buggin' you. :-)
