Her pod floated, touching the sides of the bubble. She imagined her Cubis had sharp edges though she really couldn’t see. The Embus didn’t need them to see so she couldn’t bring the spaces into focus. Something was wrong. Their impending budding had been delayed. She didn’t know why and she didn’t care. In fact she didn’t feel anything. They didn’t need them to feel. That’s not why they’re bred.
*Okay, I'm on a mission to write something daily. Today I looked to3WW and readwritepoem to draw inspiration. I combined Polkadot's prompt to stretch my imagination and the rwp random word generator. Whatcha think?

This leaves me with a lot of questions, totally intrigued.
Welcome to 3WW! :)
i think you've stretched MY imagination too!
I am envisioning a planet where people float on pods inside a bubble atmosphere. I feel like I'm tripping. :))
Great entrance into a sci-fi or something... I'm imagining some out of body pregnancy? There's a lot to build on and explain, it would be fun to hear more!
Hi Writerkat, I just finished a collection of short stories by Octavia E. Butler. I didn't know how much I love sci-fi stories till reading her. Don't know if I can expand, but I am tickled by what I began here. Thanks for commenting.
Yeah, it would fit CGP's RWP prompt for sci-fi a couple of weeks ago, too...lots of atmosphere, slightly creepy. (Not "feeling" always evokes creepy to me, though I tend to be "unemotional" myself. Hmmm. Oh, and I mean creepy in a good way. Just so ya know.)
definitely intriguing. reminds me of the movie, The Island. thats quite a trip you took us on. :)
Well, it was nice to hear from you on my blog. Glad you're inspired.
Your para reads like a plant who's beginning to become aware. It has a surreal quality to it that drew me in. The words Cubis and Embus created a mystery. Very nice. Your imagination has been germenating, and is now beginning to sprout leaves. Great!
glad you were able to use my prompt. make sure you stop by read write poem on monday to leave a link to this.
great scifi... sorta reminds me of crossbreeding flowers... or a game...
