Worship

sitting together
bound by expectant waiting
light streaming within

* There is a profound sense of peace when I attend Meeting for worship. Here is my contribution to Sunday Scribblings' prompt for 'miracle.'

This beautifully sums up the expectation of corporate worship. And I'm so looking forward to today's service. Hope you have a good time.

Love your finishing line: the goal of the cat burglars, eh?

Peace.

Hi Paul,
Do you attend Quaker meeting?

Linda,
From my first Meeting, I knew I was in the right place.

Murat11,
If you mean by to connect, yes. :-)

Sorry, but my first impression led me to images of those grand old train stations of my youth when I wandered back and forth across the country. Always wondering and wandering, I sat expectantly waiting for the next train.

Hi me ann,
We each bring our own experiences to a work. I really wanted to use a picture of the inside of a Quaker meeting. A fellow blogger has one but I didn't ask for permission to use it beforehand so I grabbed a freebie off the net. I try not to use images too often because I think they can set a frame or reference that narrows how we interpret the poem.

I love to sit in our temple and watch the light play through the stained glass windows.

That was my first thought. My second caught the play on the concept of light streaming within. Nicely done!

This is a lovely poem and truly seems to portray what your faith brings to you. Nice work.

Susan, thank you for sharing your story of forgiveness in my poetry/writing journal. It's amazing to discover how forgiveness plays in our lives.

And what you wrote here reminded me of this past Friday when I went to a chapel to pray and meditate. Very peaceful indeed.

You capture this perfectly. Although brought up in the faith, I'm not a practicing Christian, but my wife is, and I've attended now and again.

Sandy, Thanks for coming by. Your site is the most peaceful, eye-catching site I frequent. I thoroughly enjoy what you have created there.
