Weekly Geeks: Bookmarks

Do you use bookmarks or just grab whatever is handy to mark your page? Do you collect lots of different bookmarks or do you have a favorite one that you use exclusively? If you're not someone who uses bookmarks on a regular basis, have you ever used anything odd to mark your place?

I love bookmarks. I collect bookmarks given to me by friends. If they're handmade and delicate, I rarely use them. I am not a crafty person, but the one craft I do have and love is making bookmarks. I have a laminate machine and lots of scrapbooking supplies I use to create bookmarks. My favorites to make have quotes and images of women I admire. I make bookmarks that promote Color Online. I make bookmarks with children and girl themes for our community library and I sometimes include bookmarks with books I send out to contest winners or with book trade requests.

How about a bookmark swap among Weekly Geek members? Find more submissions here.

I love bookmarks too. A lot of times they remind me of trips we've taken or coffeeshop/bookstores we've been to, and I have them all over the house - wherever there is a book sitting around. My husband tries to use the book jacket for a bookmark and it amazes me, since we have 8 million nice bookmarks around!

I love it that you create bookmarks for a purpose! I might just have to steal that idea myself.

I'd love to do a bookmark swap. I could probably send out 5 but to totally different places.

I love bookmarks and lately have started recycling the cards I get from my family for special occasions and make bookmarks out of them. Just today I took the Mother's Day Card from my daughter - cut it up - glued it back together and have a lovely pink bookmark with a butterfly on it!

I understand that you're afraid of loosing bookmarks that were given as a present. But... when I give a bookmark to a book-a-holic I do hope (s)he will use it!

I'd be in for a bookmark swap! Mine would look something like this:

I love bookmark swaps but I can't commit to organizing one. I would participate. Thanks all for commenting.
