Hi Geoffrey, I really appreciate you participating on a regular basis. I'll post a few links at a time, and I hope you come back and tell us if you've read a link shared here and you enjoyed it.

Here's a contest that I think the older audience would like: http://patricias-vampire-notes.blogspot.com/2009/05/book-contest-girl-who-stopped-swimming.html =)

Black-eyed Susan, have dropped by all last week, but didn't leave a comment. Will do so this week.

Black-eyed Susan, I enjoyed reading and leaving comments on all three blogs:
Tanka Time by Griot Girl
Gardening by Jeanette Winterson
First Come Love, Then Malaria

and I will definitely be chacking them out in the future.

Thank you for helping me to make these wonderful discoveries.

I really think I should not post new fiction on Thursdays. I like how this one came out, but didn't get the love:

Thom, I hear you. There are some posts that get overlooked simply because of when we publish them. Putting it up and make it a regular LLM link. Nothing wrong with promoting the same kind of link weekly. Thanks.

Geoffrey, I can feel the love. Thank you so much for coming back here.

This week I don't have a link to a particular post, but to an entire blog.

Ashley of Books Make Great Lovers is only 15, yet she is so well aware of the issues the world faces. I think she deserves much respect for the work she has done on her blog for the last two months, spotlighting Child Abuse Month and Teen Sex Awareness. In addition to this, she produces her own YA newsletter.

She is a great young lady, whose hard work sometimes goes unnoticed in this huge sea of bloggers, but she truly is a gem!

Cool beans, Shalonda. I'll link her blog but do try to also give us a direct link to one of the issues she covers. I'm on my way.

I really enjoyed Kim's review of The Spirit Catches you and You Fall Down, at Sophisticated Dorkiness. This nonfiction book is a remarkable look at the Hmong culture and the Western medical community in California, and has stuck with me ever since I read it years ago. Kim gave it her very first A+ Perfect Score!

It's Monday! Where is the love? Where is the love you said you give to me? ((susan who is notorious for butchering song lyrics))

Hi Serena,

Thanks for sharing. :-)

So excited to win last week! Definitely a pleasant surprise over the weekend.

In the spirit of Shalonda I'd like to give some love to a new blog started by an Austin-area poet. So you're not forced to wade through these entire blogs to get a sense of it, here is a post I find particularly notable:

Over at Boho Coco, blog author/poet Christopher Savage reading: http://bohococo.blogspot.com/2009/05/christopher-savage-live.html

I love this idea but I'm a bit confused. Are we supposed to link to one of our own posts or to someone else's? (I'd assumed someone else's but I've noticed that some folk link to their own.) I'm off to visit some of the blogs mentioned above!

susan said...

avisanschild,

We want links to any post you think deserves some love and that includes your own. Nothing wrong with self-promotion. We're all busy so sometimes we need a little hand waving so we know you're there.

Thanks for asking and looking forward to hearing from you again.

susan said...

Let me add, we also hope that in addition to leaving a link, you're reading and commenting to others. It's love all around.

avisannschild said...

Thanks for clarifying so promptly, Susan! I'll definitely be back!

I don't have any links yet, I just got the heads up from you on my blog.... but I definitely will keep my eyes open for next Monday! :D

Oh and I don't really like putting the synopsis on Mailbox Monday, but I never thought of providing a link to the book before so thank you!

I do go around blogs regularly and comment, but only to posts that I can relate to, so I can make personal comments. I'm reluctant to leave generic comments, because I'm not sure if they do much. I still appreciate it when people do on mine, because that's an effort in itself. Anyway, I have shared some love and I'll check out the links soon!

susan said...

mee, if you can appreciate the generic comments, isn't possible others appreciate you taking the time to say you enjoyed your time on their blog?

Won't speak for others, but here, I don't need or want impressive comments. Just want to chat, to connect. Thanks for coming by.

Ali said...

I leave comments on more blogs than I can keep track of, every week. It's half the fun of blogging, to me!

avisannschild said...

OK, here's my link that needs some love: it's my review of Pathologies by Susan Olding.

avisannschild said...

I also did the rounds today and commented on at least five different posts (not including my comments on Mailbox Monday posts)!

Claudia said...

I was inspired by Li'l Lovin Monday to write a post celebrating a few of the achievements and great posts by some of my favorite blogs (including this one). I'm on my way now to visit and comment on a few others.

The gardening article by Jeanette Winterson is just beautiful! I'm trying my hand at gardening for the first time this year and it has given me a much needed boost of encouragement. (I didn't see a place to leave comments, so I'm sharing my thoughts here...)

Geoffrey Philp said...

I, too, liked Winterson's post and how she developed the idea of gardening and writing as metaphors for relationships. Brilliant!

susan said...

Thank you all for participating. Winner announced soon. A free book is nice but what's better is that I know you all participate to support each other. You rock!
